Masoor Dal is a popular North Indian Cuisine based lentil dish and is often made in Indian homes. The dish is made of pink lentils that are known in Hindi as Masoor dal. Often known as red lentils and orange lentils. Please note these are not Puy lentils. The lentils of the Masoor Dal can be split or whole, and both types are used in Indian cooking. The husked, split lentils have an orange-pink hue. As the husks have this colour, the Whole Masoor Dal has a dark brown colour.
